What is A-STEP?


A sleep technologist training program which is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). A center or academic institution that becomes an A-STEP provider can offer the AASM A-STEP Introductory Course to sleep trainees and technicians. This course consists of 80 hours of instruction and training about sleep, sleep disorders, sleep studies and patient care. It concludes with an online examination, and students who successfully complete the course proceed to begin the online AASM A-STEP Self-Study Modules.

How long is the program?
Our A-STEP program is two weeks in length.

What is the cost of this program?
The cost of the program is $3,200.00. This includes all materials.

Are there any requirements I must meet prior to enrolling in the ASTEP program?
Applicants are required to have a high school diploma or GED.

How do I enroll in the ASTEP program?
Applicants should complete the printable registration form provided below and fax it to The Center for Sleep Medicine at 708-364-6024, attention Angie Marczali, RRT, RPSGT.
